Dwighty Dwight is getting impatient?

First of all, can I just say that Dwight Howard’s muscles are RIDICULOUSLY huge? I mean, they look seriously disproportionate in comparison to his head. Weird. But whatever floats his boat, right?

Anyhoozle, Dwight is getting impatient. He’s letting the world know that he needs “the right teammates” and it better be soon because they need their chance to shine. Basically he’s pulling a “y’all better switch things up ASAP or I’mma bust outta here cuz I wanna ring.”   (Lakers being his #1 option) Well, maybe not exaclty that- he claims he hasn’t even considered leaving the Magic- but who knows whether or not he’ll pull a Lebron.

I am definitely with him on one thing though; Orlando needs a makeover.  He has been pulling a lot of the weight this whole season and you can see it’s wearing him down and he’s getting frustrated. It seems like a lot of the good teams that did well last year haven’t been so spectacular this season and a lot of them are needing some mega changes. I’m excited to see what goes down next season because things are bound to change drastically for a fair load of the NBA teams.  Like I’ve already talked about, I hope the C’s become a new team. Not to mention….

peace, tanning, & big muscles,

PS- Did you know that an estimated 70-80% of NBA players have tats?  Most of them even have personal tattoo artists. Crazy, huh?

Deja vu, anyone?

Exactly five years ago, the NBA playoffs had the same two teams duking it out for championship rings.

Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks.

Both teams have risen above, both achieving what they hadn’t expected, both pushing their limits. But now, it’s the Mavs chance to take back that ring they let slip out of their fingers.

May 2006. Dallas is up 2-0, expecting to get their rings in the bag. Then out of no where, Miami wins 4 straight games and snatches those rings faster than you can say “D-Wade.”

Dirk is getting older; he’s thirty two to be exact. And as much as I love Miami (my #2 team), I honestly believe that Dirk deserves a ring more than Wade. Dirk is probably one of the most understated players in the NBA, and it’s only until this year’s playoffs that he has really been in the spotlight.

Don’t get me wrong- it’s definitely not going to be a walk in the rose garden trying to get redemption from the Heat. Overcoming Wade, Bosh, Lebron and their defense will be tough. Especially Dirk and Bosh, because Bosh has had an excellent series this year (minus against Boston, that was just a flop for him).

But I know the Mavs are capable. They are so capable.

I guess we’ll see, eh?

peace, sunny days, & the NBA playoffs 2011

Sir Charles.

1) Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian. No. She stole him from me. I guess I’ll just have to settle for Jimmer…

2) Speaking of which, what is all this about people thinking Jimmer is going to bust? I’m hoping that all of this guessing is just guessing without any substance to it. Because I have faith in Jimmer, and if he is going to bust like people think he will, my heart might be broken. Now I’m half nervous, half excited. Sheesh.

3) Charles Barkley.

Why is he my favourite commentator?

“I can be bought. If they paid me enough, I’d work for the Klan.”

After an Olympic Dream Team victory over Angola, in which they won 116-48, Charles got into a physical altercation with a member of Angola towards the end of the game, afterwards he says.
“Somebody hits me, I’m going to hit him back. Even if it does look like he hasn’t eaten in a couple weeks. I thought he was going to pull a spear on me.”

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH. So bad, but so good. He may be controversial at times, but his speculations tend to be right more than anyone else. Love that guy.

4) Lakers have a new head coach and apparently Kobe didn’t get a word in about it. Oops!

peace, cramming, & charles barkley,

Well, this is interesting.

So the Bulls lost to Miami last night. Again.

I honestly thought the Bulls were going to pull through. They’ve been underestimated this season, and I was thoroughly impressed with their results (up until now). It’s a bit of a bummer, you know? I was ready to see Lebron’s ginormous ego get whooped. But everyone knows that in the playoffs no one comes back from 3-1. Maybe next year, Chicago.

Now the real interesting game was the last game between the Mavericks and Oklahoma City. What the freak was that, Durant? He choked so hard that I even felt bad for him. Nine turnovers, a bunch of missed rookie-shots, and a really dumb attempt to look cool with a buzzer beater. Not cute.

“So Durant, why did you suck tonight?” “Uhh… I dunno bro.”

Monta Ellis, point guard for the Golden State Warriors, got the dumbest tattoo I’ve ever seen in my life. Look at this. There is a BABY’S FACE FLOATING IN A FOREST.

Well, that’s weird.

peace, cramps, & disturbing tattoos,

Some of the best photos from NBA Playoffs 2011. Definitely.

I’m not sure how someone accidentally makes this face, but it happened.

He’s doing the robot…or something.

peace, finals, & funny faces,

So I’m sitting out by the pool, and my dad comes outside saying “Did you hear the news about Jimmer?” And I’m thinking “How on earth is there any news that I don’t know about Jimmer?”

Dad: “He broke his leg at the combine…”
Dad: Well, he obviously won’t be drafted…

I stare in disbelief at him for a full 5 seconds before I slowly place my head in my hands, about to cry.

Dad: Just kidding.

I don’t think I’ve ever come that close to crying about Jimmer. Phew, close call. But the NBA Combine results from Chicago are in! (take a look here- I checked ’em out this morning and found them pretty interesting. I’ve come to realize that size matters a lot, but in the same regard it really doesn’t.  There are so many different roles in basketball that can be filled by numerous shapes and sizes, and that’s why I’m not concerned that Jimmer tends to be smaller than a fair bit of the draftees this year.

My other fave kiddos that I’ll be watching are Kemba (of course, can’t forget KEMBAAAAA) and Brandon Knight who I think will both go far in the NBA. I’ll take a more in-depth look at them both later because they’re worth knowing…that’s for sure. 32 days until the draft, guys. 32 days.

peace, walking, & lovin’ the combine,

Thunder AND Heat back?

So both Miami and Oklahoma city lost game 1, and they both won game 2.  I’m seriously intrigued.

First off, Miami:

Miami lost their first game by 21 points and won their second by 10. Kinda cool, eh? First game, everyone- especially Lebron and Wade- was way off track in every way, shape, and form. During game 1, after the first 38 seconds it was just downhill from there. But game 2 was a totally different story (thank heavens). First quarter the Bulls missed tooooooo many shots; I dunno if it was just bad luck or what, but it was a bad start all around. They picked it up 2nd and 3rd quarter, then slacked and lost it 4th quarter.  Interesting game though.

Can I just add one thing? I love Derrick Rose.

Oklahoma City:

During game two it was nice to see them be a real team, because Westbrook struggled yet again and everyone else worked hard to step things up a notch. Westbrook was ticked once he was benched though. Maynor, Durant, and Harden did a really great job moving it fast with a 55.7% from the field which isn’t too bad. Favourite quote from the night:

“We was winning.”-Westbrook (repeated several times to the press)

Okay come on now, honey…you’re a grown man.  PLEASE, please PLEASE be grammatically correct.

This picture makes me giggle.

peace, math quizzes, & playoff comebacks,
